At Sandvine, we’re really smart people doing a really hard, important job. We’re building a smarter Internet.
We have over 300 network operator customers, many with globally-recognized brands, who serve billions of subscribers across more than 100 countries. We compete with the biggest networking companies in the world – and beat them. Our wall of patents probably explain why.
Industry analysts say we’re Number 1 in our space. We’re media darlings: just ask the Wall Street Journal, Ars Technica, Forbes, Wired and Time.
We’re an established, public company with the finances and resources you need to excel in your role.
If the current team is any guide, your move to Sandvine will be the first of many within the company, and (we’re not afraid to say this) a great launching pad for success elsewhere too. We’re invested in keeping bright people challenged.
You can earn the trust to try something new for the company, new for you, or to tackle an existing challenge in your own new way. Many of our best and brightest have started in one role and grown with Sandvine, either within the same group or by joining a new one. Others have left to create their own startups, and a surprising number have left and returned! We can’t imagine a bigger compliment.
While many team members who started their careers with Sandvine are still with us, we’re proud that ex-Sandviners have launched promising new companies. Sandvine itself was created by the founders of PixStream, a company that Cisco bought for half-a-billion dollars. We’re a central figure in Waterloo’s innovation culture, but no need to stay in Waterloo throughout your Sandvine ascension. Give your passport a workout flying between our offices (Waterloo, Bangalore, Rotterdam and Zurich), or by visiting one of our customers spread across more than 100 countries.
Whether your next step is up the ladder, onto an airplane, or on to another challenge, join Sandvine and propel your career forward.
That’s the title from one of the almost-40 patents issued to Sandvine’s credit. We have another 40 or so pending. We look at the data packets that zip across our operator customers’ networks, identify the application (like "Netflix"), then make instantaneous decisions about how to treat that traffic – all at the speed of the Internet. We’re working on really hard problems that require really bright people to find real solutions. We’re making the Internet smarter.
We have an unmatched history of innovation and we’re regularly recognized as leaders by industry analysts. We tackle some of our toughest problems and come up with some of our coolest ideas at hack-a-thons that let you temporarily hop out of your role and into a new challenge.
Our team has made several contributions to IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) working groups, BITAG (Broadband Internet technical Advisory Group) and other key groups that shape the Internet. We also take every opportunity to influence laws and regulations that affect the Internet through presentations and submissions to:
Be a part of Sandvine’s challenging, important innovation.
You’re in high demand, so we offer a package that recognizes your important and unique contribution to building a smarter Internet.
We offer competitive salaries, of course, but we also have other ways to make sure that Sandvine’s success is your success too. Depending on your role, you’ll benefit from one or more of:
Regardless of your office location, we have programs designed to keep you healthy, like treadmill desks, discounted fitness memberships, walking groups, yoga camps, health lectures and check-ups. But even the Internet gets viruses from time to time. For those moments, we offer:
There’s other stuff too. Refer a friend we hire? Proceed directly to Go and collect way more than $200. Heading to Toronto? Get a discount on your rail ticket or rental car. Working late in India? We offer after-hours car service, security escorts and self-defense classes.
Really smart people doing really hard work deserve to be rewarded really well.
We work hard and play hard – it’s part of the Sandvine Way.
We party like – and with – rockstars: the Barenaked Ladies are our house band (well…they’ve performed for us twice anyway). Burton Cummings, Rick Mercer, Lewis Black and Penn and Teller have all taken the stage for the Sandvine Team.
Whether you get your game on with a video controller, a bishop and a rook, or a nine iron and putter, you’re going to find some way to mix play with work at Sandvine:
If all that partying and playing leaves you peckish, no problem! Buy lunch from our daily service or on Lunch Truck Thursdays. Or eat on Sandvine’s tab: healthy treats every Tuesday, unhealthy birthday treats every month, popcorn from the always-popping machine, and ice cream in the summer. Participate in our chili cook off and soup competition, or just bring a bib and an appetite! Block 3, Innocente, Descendants and other regional craft brewers all compete for a spot on one of our six taps. Our drink fridge runneth over.
Enjoy all this goodness in a casual work environment that lets you be you. Walk around in flip flops, or socks - in December. Bring your pet. Bad hair day? Use the barber. Bad back day? Use the chiropractor or massage therapist.
When it comes to giving, we take our lead from the Sandvine Team.
You’re already passionate about a cause, so we encourage you to use Sandvine to help raise awareness. Recently, we gave until we bled for Canadian Blood Services; fed the Waterloo Regional Food Bank, FeedFive and Meals on Wheels; put the pedal to the metal for the Heart and Stroke Big Bike; put our best foot forward stuffing shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse; and helped the Red Cross’s efforts for Fort McMurray.
In India, we’ve given our time and money to a local orphanage and sponsored the education of nine children from less fortunate families. We also donate money and supplies during natural disasters like floods, and earthquakes.
We give back to our profession too. Our team’s passion for technology extends beyond the office, so Sandvine supports tech wherever we can, too. We’ve participated in events sponsored by HackerNest, Girl Geek Dinners and Year of Code. Join the Women of Sandvine to share experiences about life in high tech.
As a member of the Sandvine team, you can choose how we give back.
