VoLTE QoE

Gain insight into the factors affecting VoLTE QoE and understand where improvements can be made

With the evolution of mobile networks from traditional circuit-switched to IP-based, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) networks, measuring end-to-end VoLTE call quality now requires the ability to perform flow-based analysis on VoLTE calls. Unfortunately, much like legacy networks, many vendors have not kept up with industry standards or the technologies required to deliver the ability for communications service providers (CSPs) to accurately measure and report on quality of experience (QoE) on VoLTE networks.

Sandvine’s access-agnostic policy control platform operates not only as a universal policy controller for your traditional data networks (2G, 3G, CDMA, Cable, DSL, etc.), but is optimized for LTE and VoLTE environments, enabling CSPs to leverage Sandvine’s leading QoE metrics to completely understand the quality of experience that their LTE subscribers are achieving with their IP-based, VoLTE calls.

With Sandvine, CSPs have access to QoE metrics that are optimized for VoLTE environments that extend beyond our industry-leading video QoE measurements to include: VoIP QoE, VoLTE QoE, Routing QoE, and Web QoE. Sandvine’s Policy Traffic Switch (PTS) identifies VoLTE traffic in real-time and applies measurements to identified VoLTE traffic that are exposed through Sandvine’s traffic classification technology, to provide insight into VoLTE call quality. LTE operators can establish custom VoLTE QoE MOS thresholds to isolate segments of poor quality calls, to be quickly alerted to where problem areas of the LTE network exist and where improvements can be made.
