ContentLogic Assists Service Providers in Delivering Consumer, Child Protection and Regulatory Compliance Worldwide
FREMONT, Calif., October 22, 2013 — Procera Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: PKT), the global Internet Intelligence company, announced today it joined the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), a non-profit partnership that works with the online industry, law enforcement, government, and international partners to minimize the availability of online child sexual abuse images and videos. IWF helps internet service providers and hosting companies combat the abuse of their networks through its ‘notice and takedown’ service which alerts them to child sexual abuse content for removal. Using the IWF’s alerts, Procera’s ContentLogic and PacketLogicTM solutions enable service providers to comply with regulations in over 60 countries, and provide a safer experience for children and broadband consumers worldwide.
Procera incorporates the IWF’s list of known child sexual abuse URLs into its database updates, preventing end users from stumbling across known images of child sexual abuse online. Procera’s ContentLogic solution is capable of correlating the categories of content consumed by broadband subscribers for up to 100 million URLs with minimal performance impact to any of the PacketLogic Real-Time Enforcement (PRE) systems. ContentLogic determines the categories of content being accessed and compares that to daily updated lists of sites known for hosting objectionable content, while the PRE performs the filtering and enforcement required.
"We are proud to be working with a group dedicated to making the Internet a better, safer place for children and families," proclaimed Ed Page, director of Product Management at Procera. "Procera’s solutions enable service providers to deliver the best possible Internet experience for their subscribers while also assisting them in complying with a variety of regulations from around the globe that are designed to keep the Internet safe."
"Our Members are at the heart of everything we do," said Susie Hargreaves, IWF Chief Executive. "We firmly believe in building strong relationships with our members’ teams and working closely together to protect Internet users from child sexual abuse content. I am therefore delighted to welcome Procera Networks into IWF membership and look forward to a productive partnership between our organisations."
