Sandvine Reports Q2 2015 Results

Waterloo, Canada; July 9, 2015 – Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent network policy control solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today reported revenue of $28.6 million for its second quarter of 2015 and net income of $3.0 million. All results are reported in U.S. dollars under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), unless otherwise specified.

Other Q2 2015 results highlights:

  • Revenue by access technology market: DSL 37%; wireless 35%; cable 25%; other 3%

“Strength in EMEA and the DSL market was largely driven by over $6 million in revenue related to an order for our market-leading 100-Gigabit-Ethernet PTS 32000 platform. We believe that the product’s performance and efficiency advantages will continue to create meaningful upgrade and greenfield opportunities for Sandvine,” said Dave Caputo, Sandvine’s President and CEO.

Since the last quarterly results announcement, Sandvine:

  • Was named market share leader, again, by Infonetics Research
  • Received an $8 million order from a customer in the EMEA region, based on its new 100GE platform, the PTS 32000
  • Announced that Sandvine’s Business Intelligence and Usage Management solutions are being used by Telecom Italia as a key part of its customer experience management and service operations center platform
  • Announced that VMedia is managing and protecting its network with Sandvine’s solutions. VMedia offers a unique IPTV platform that delivers a whole home entertainment experience, enabling subscribers to seamlessly enjoy conventional TV, over the top content, video on demand, and other apps on their TV via a single set top box
  • Announced that its Q2 wins included three mobile operators that selected Sandvine’s PCRF, for deployments related to VoLTE quality of service, and new service creation use cases
  • Released two Global Internet Phenomena Reports
    • One focused on North America and Latin America, revealing, among other things that in Latin American, two companies, Facebook and Google, now control over 60% of total mobile traffic in the region
    • The other focused on encrypted Internet traffic, and discussed how Netflix’s recent decision to encrypt their traffic will result in over two-thirds of North American Internet traffic being encrypted in 2016
  • Launched SmartService App, a smartphone application designed to enable mobile network operators and mobile virtual network operators to offer subscribers the ability to instantly select, personalize and monitor their service plan directly from their device.
