The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Manager, Human Resources will be responsible for giving Regional and Divisional HR support, and will operate as Global HR Business Partner for Sandvine. You will work with the APAC region as well as partner with the assigned global Business Unit.

As an HR Business Partner, you will be executing on strategic HR initiatives (i.e. org structure, develop competencies, talent initiatives, retention, etc). The HRBP will also be the HR Advisor to assigned leaders and senior management in all HR related matters.

This role will be highly involved in multiple ongoing global HR improvement projects to help streamline processes and improve operational excellence.
 

The Job
 

  • Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources for the APAC region with the assigned Business Unit leadership team, which aligns with any global policies or programs.
  • Included in the area but not limited only to the following would be programs and practices for employee relations, employee complaints, supporting and driving talent mgmt. initiatives for the business unit, education and career development and ensure compliance with all local, state and country legal standards.
  • Proven experience in being a strategic HR Business Partner with senior leadership of a sales business unit.
  • Solid experience and ability to execute change management initiatives for a business unit or a region.
  • Develop project plans and budgets quantifying HR value added contributions.
  • Partner with the Chief Administrative Officer and business leaders to understand priorities and needs to build the talent strategy and recruitment needs for your region. 
  • Work closely to ensure alignment within the existing employee programs e.g. on-boarding, performance management etc. are effectively conducted within your region of accountability.

 
What skills you need

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA or Master’s equivalent preferred; AND
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of broad based HR experience required in Human Resources Management that should include generalist duties, benefits, employee relations and training/development – preferably in a high technology company in the telecommunications area
  • Experience in working in all countries in APAC, with specific expertise in Japan, Korea
  • Thorough knowledge of local and regional employment legislation in various APAC countries
  • Experience working with all levels of management
  • Experience in hiring and termination guidelines in Australia, Japan, Korea, ASEAN countries
  • Knowledge of compensation plans related to Field organizations
  • Effective change management skills and solid experience managing large change in an organization or business unit.
  • Provides immediate fixes to acute emergencies (retention, culture change, poor performance etc) within the region or assigned business unit.  While ensuring a long term solution is raised and implemented.


 Leadership skills

  • Ability to work across the organization in a consultative manner to establish plans with leaders, achieve results, and has ideally worked in a large organization requiring the ability to establish credibility with the senior leadership team.
  • Conduct investigations relating to compliance and performance issues in accordance with company practice or adhering to local obligations.
  • Provide guidance through knowledge of the key employment law issues and support clients relating to employee performance.
  • Proactively, lead initiatives for the assigned business unit leadership team.
  • Must maintain a strong sense of integrity, confidence and honesty.
  • Manage, coach and mentor junior HR team members to increase their skills and effectiveness in the organizational support provided.  Plan and schedule work as needed.
  • Needs to be a thought leader in driving effective change in practices or programs to ensure strong people side of the business for the region and with the assigned business unit.
