The Opportunity
As a DevOps Architect, you will lead our CI/CD efforts cloud and help us build a scalable, efficient and secure cloud infrastructure. As part of this innovative, geographically diverse team, you will work closely with multiple product teams to enhance the capability of our DevOps infrastructure. You have a good understanding of CI/CD processes and industry best practices and love to come up with innovative solutions for engineering problems. This role will also be responsible for presenting and communicate the architecture internally and externally

Sandvine has engineering and architecture leadership when it comes to highly performant platforms delivering industry leading features. Telecom operators are on a massive transformational journey towards cloud deployments and next generation technologies while facing rapidly increasing demands on their network infrastructure. This role will require significant experience with designing and architecting CI/CD efforts and solutions with the right TCO, resiliency and performance as well as experience with transforming them to cloud native deployments.

The Job

The role will be responsible for:

  • Defining our Cloud Strategy and Road-map for CI/CD
  • Architect, design, build, integrate, improve and manage our CI/CD tools and pipelines
  • Serve as a leading voice internally on what technologies and partnerships the company should lean into to execute its product roadmap and cloud transformation
  • Drive the identification and incorporation of new, disruptive technologies into the architecture
  • Responsible for the set-up, maintenance and ongoing development of continuous build/ integration infrastructure and actively troubleshoot any issues in CI/CD pipelines to make delivery process faster
  • Keep up to date on modern technologies and trends and advocate for their inclusion within DevOps deliverables when it makes sense
  • Working closely with multiple product teams and assist in making the DevOps infrastructure more scalable and improve performance
  • Implement and improve monitoring and alerting
  • Present and communicate the architecture internally and externally

This position will report to the Director of R&D and the work location will be in Bangalore.

What Skills you bring:

  • 8+ years applicable experience required
  • A minimum of 2 years DevOps Architecting experience is ideal
  • Ideal candidate will have designing and architecting experience in CI/CD Integration tools (Jenkins), deep knowledge of gitlab is mandatory.
  • Oversaw DevOps CI/CD strategy and initiatives within the last 24 months as the go-to architecture expert
  • Ability to demonstrate material impact on the product portfolio’s key indicators (customer adoption, revenue growth etc.)
  • Ability to demonstrate transformation of the CI/CD solution from a virtual deployment to cloud readiness
  • Oversaw architecture for improved CI/CD pipeline in delivering solutions for multiple products across multiple verticals.
  • Experience with dealing with business requirements to product solutions and use case definitions
  • Demonstrated experience in working with complex business requirements to delivery.
  • Led solutions from concept to delivery.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python, Groovy, JavaScript
  • Decompose customer/product requirements to use cases and product solutions with MVPs and incremental sprints.
  • Good to have cloud based technologies, micro services.
  • Evangelize agile methodologies, test automation and KPIs to ensure proper product solutions are delivered on-time and with quality including maintenance post delivery

Other Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Design of Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines in Jenkins for microservices. Support for Jenkins tuning and troubleshooting
  • Have worked closely with the DevOps team in defining principles and guidelines to optimize support model and processes
  • Experience in Modernization of existing application - designing migration from Virtual Machine(s) to containerized (Docker) version or native cloud
  • Have experience in leading Knowledge sharing about DevOps with development teams
  • Promoting release automation in development teams to decrease software delivery time of new features
  • Support for configuration and customization of Observability tools
  • Documentation of DevOps aspects
