The Opportunity

As Product Segment Leader, you will be responsible for the definition and implementation of the product strategy from concept to end-of-life for Sandvine’s Revenue Generation and Revenue Assurance segments. You will work with technical product managers to define the vision and the market strategy.

Using your deep knowledge of telecommunication policy control and charging, billing, and B/OSS integration, you will define and optimize use case software modules that generate meaningful Return on Investment (RoI) to Sandvine’s customers. This leading role will allow you to interact with current and prospective customers to deeply understand their needs, and turn that customer insight into actionable business and technical product requirements and plans.

By working directly with key customers and cross-functional teams, you will define high-value use cases, go-to-market strategy, and competitive positioning. You will drive your vision across the company by interacting with CTO, R&D, Sales Engineering, Delivery and Support teams. Simply put, you are the driving force behind the inception, planning, development and delivery of Use Cases in the Revenue Generation and the Revenue Assurance Segments.

The Job

  • Market analysis including target segments, competitive analysis, and industry trends
  • Crafting market strategies and capturing market problems and customer requirements
  • Roadmap development and Use case definition with clear differentiation
  • Business Planning and Forecasting
  • Product pricing, licensing, and packaging
  • Contribution to product positioning and business partnership efforts
  • Writing compelling user stories and use case scenarios in the Agile format
  • Providing subject matter expertise to the RFP Management team when required

You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering and create and review launch materials, customer presentations and sales training materials.  You will take proactive ownership and anticipate potential risks, putting appropriate mitigation plans in place.  You will also perform margin and pricing analysis and develop and maintain key customer relationships.

What skills you bring

  • Undergraduate Engineering, Computer Science, or Business degree plus minimum 5 years related experience in networking and/or telecommunications MBA or advanced degree is desirable
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Proven track record of New Product Introductions and Release Planning
  • Excellent follow-through and execution skills
  • Track record of performing business planning, communicating product vision, and business problem solving through use case selling.
  • Comfortable with building business cases and basic financial KPIs such as ROI, IRR, COGS, etc.
  • Demonstrates keen interest in learning in a fast paced environment
  • Good working relationship with customers, peers, development teams, and partners
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Team player that thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Experience with 3GPP policy control and charging, billing systems and processes, and B/OSS integration
  • Strong understanding of IP networking products and technologies especially control plane signaling such as Gx, Gy, Sd, RADIUS, Diameter, REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Strong understanding of telecom networks and products in fixed line and mobile
  • Good understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning applications for packet processing
  • Good understanding of distributed and reliable systems
  • Comfortable with reading and working with standards such as IETF and ETSI
  • Experience with software development lifecycle in Agile / Continuous delivery environments
