At Procera Networks we believe that the Internet should be a safe place for everyone – especially for children and young people. That’s why we are supporting today’s Safer Internet Day. Safer Internet Day is an awareness day with the goal of promoting safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile devices, particularly among children and youth.
The tagline for Safer Internet Day is 'Let's create a better internet together' and the day gives the opportunity to focus on creative things that children are doing on the Internet, but also on the responsibility that everyone has in helping to create a better world online.
Safer Internet Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide, across all continents with the aim of protect children and young people from illegal and harmful content and conduct online. Safer Internet Day is organized by the UK Safer Internet Centre in February each year to promote the responsible use of online technology. The UK Safer Internet Centre is among others coordinated by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), which Procera joined this fall.
IWF is a non-profit partnership that works with the online industry, law enforcement, government, and international partners to minimize the availability of online child sexual abuse images and videos. IWF helps Internet service providers and hosting companies combat the abuse of their networks through its ‘notice and takedown’ service, which alerts them to child sexual abuse content for removal. Using the IWF’s alerts, Procera’s ContentLogic and PacketLogic™ solutions enable service providers to comply with regulations in over 60 countries, and provide a safer experience for children and broadband consumers worldwide.
We believe that everyone should feel safe online and we encourage you to find out more about how you can support this great awareness day – please visit saferinternet.org.uk/
