|Hi, I'm Roop Singh, Senior Sales Engineer for Procera's NAVL team. Today we're at RSA 2015 demonstrating Savvius's OmniPeek product. For users of the industry-leading Wireshark, this is a tool that you might really like. It has all the features of Wireshark, plus significant analytics benefits which Savvius has added. In Savvius's OmniPeek application, NAVL is leveraged to provide application intelligence at layer 7. Here we can see DNS, UDP, as well as Google and Citrix IMA being detected in traffic in real-time. This application provides high-level information on networks as well as very ingrained packet details.|
|My name is Pete Sanders and I'm essentially the Chief Sales Engineer for Napatech. What Napatech does is we build a full line of what we call accelerators. Essentially, what they do is, it's a PCI express interface that we support network speeds from gigabit all the way up to 100 gigabit. They're really designed to offload the application for analysis applications, whether it's network monitoring, or it is security applications, deep packet inspection, any application that needs to be able to capture and see everything that's happening on the network. What Napatech provides to Procera's DPI product, their NAVL product, is we very efficiently capture all the traffic off the network and we offer capabilities like buffering, so we can buffer large amounts of traffic. If the application that's running the NAVL library is slowing down a little bit, we'll buffer to prevent packet loss. The other primary capability we provide is the ability to distribute that traffic load. The other things we do is we do some packet classification up front. We can do some layer 2 to 4 classification up front and pass that information onto applications like the NAVL library to offload that functionality so the library doesn't have to do that processing, it can focus on its layer 7 analysis. Some of the capabilities we provide to them, that are valuable to them on top of what we do for the NAVL DPI library that they now have integrated, is we provide high precision timestamps which are required for some of the analytics that they do, some of the monitoring capabilities they have. We provide high precision timestamps, we also provide all the capabilities I described earlier on the NAVL product, we also provide the burst buffering, the zero-copy capability, bypass the kernel, load distribution, all those kinds of features we provide. Essentially, the value, in the end, that it provides to the Savvius product is they can perform at a higher level. They have the opportunity to capture everything and deliver a better product to their customer in the end. What we try to do is we try to solve, working together, we try to solve our customer's problems, give them the ability to get to market quicker. In the case of Napatech, they don't have to design their own hardware, their own special hardware, they can use ours. When it comes to Procera, they can take advantage of Procera's DPI technology. We worked together on this almost 100 gigabit demonstration a few years ago. We still show it because we think its impressive.|
