Spirit Telecom and Ben Lomand Telephone Select Sandvine Intelligent Broadband Network Solutions
Waterloo, Ontario; Columbia, South Carolina; McMinnville, TN; May 2, 2006 – Sandvine Incorporated, a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions announced today, it is partnering with Spirit Telecom, a broadband access provider and bandwidth provider to 60 rural telephone companies in the US South East. Sandvine also announced that Ben Lomand Telephone Cooperative has selected Sandvine’s Attack Traffic Mitigation Solution.
Spirit will extend Sandvine’s reach to rural broadband providers and resell its suite of intelligent broadband network solutions. Spirit will provide pre-sales engineering expertise and first-level support for Sandvine products and solutions.

Ben Lomand Telephone Cooperative and its subsidiary Volunteer Wireless, one of Spirit’s Licensees, provides its 8,500 high-speed subscribers protection from malicious attacks such as Spam, Trojans, DoS, and worms using Sandvine’s Attack Traffic Mitigation Solution. Sandvine’s Attack Traffic Mitigation uses a signature and behavior detection technique to stop malicious traffic in the network before it reaches the end subscriber.
