Waterloo, Ontario; May 25, 2004 — Communications Technology, the Official Trade Journal of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), has placed Sandvine amongst a select group of companies honored each year for bringing the most innovative new products to the cable telecommunications industry.
For the second year in a row, industry panelists for the magazine’s annual “Readers’ Choice” award picked Sandvine as a finalist in the high-speed data category. Sandvine was nominated for its Worm and DoS Traffic Mitigation product this year, a carrier-grade network equipment platform that allows MSOs to better defend broadband subscribers against worm attacks and reduce malicious traffic on their networks. Sandvine won the 2003 Readers Choice Award for its Peer-To-Peer Policy Management network equipment platform.
“It’s quite an honor to be selected as a Readers’ Choice finalist,” said Jerry Gunderson, publisher of Communications Technology. “It means that the leading technical minds in the business see the potential for these products to improve the performance of today’s HFC networks and help generate new revenues for cable operators.”
Communications Technology’s Readers’ Choice is an annual awards program that honors the industry’s most innovative new products. A panel of industry experts narrow the nominees down to a list of finalists. CT subscribers and attendees at SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo June 18-20, in Orland, Fla. will vote for the winners.
