Director, Documentation & Content Management
Waterloo, Ontario
Based in our Waterloo Head Office, you will be an integral part of the Engineering team with responsibility for managing a globally distributed technical writing team. You will make decisions and recommendations regarding the strategic direction of technical documentation development, with a specific focus on ensuring global team efficiency.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Define the overall strategy for content management and documentation workflow
- Work with documentation team, extended Sandvine team and external vendors to implement revise documentation process
- Initially, part of time will be spent working within a product development cycle to write technical product documentation and training materials when required (<40%)
- Ensure the effectiveness of the documentation by utilizing an internal review process and incorporating customer feedback
- Develop and manage relationships in a professional manner across functional area.
- Independently apply departmental standards and processes and provide ongoing recommendations for improvement and resolution of issues. Revise and update standards as required.

- Comprehensive knowledge of content and document management
- Documentation team management experience, preferably at the Director or Senior Management level
- Exposure to project management framework and system implementation lifecycle
- Gathering requirements and facilitating information-gathering workshops
- Document Management system implementation highly desirable
- A college diploma, university degree, or professional equivalent in a professional writing related area of study
- 3+ years of professional technical writing (minimum)
- Proven experience working on large documentation projects created within a defined content development cycle
- Experience working and building relationships with Subject Matter Experts
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong technical skills
- Experience with networking technologies is desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Outlook
